We are staying at the Orlík Reservoir. Due to the exceptionally low water level, boat owners had to start pulling their boats out of the water several weeks earlier than usual. The Vltava River Basin Authority is also helping with this. Boats cannot remain in the water over the winter, as they could get stuck in shallow water or obstruct any potential flooding.
Děčín – Almost fifty meters long, six meters in diameter, with a capacity of one million liters and weighing almost 240 tons. The two largest and heaviest gas storage tanks in the world passed through Děčín.
Today, ZVU POTEZ Hradec Králové sent the second part of a giant column for the production of nitric acid on its way to Australia. The contract is worth over CZK 100 million. The cylinder-shaped device, which is 60 meters long, 4.5 meters wide, and weighs 289 tons, is expected to be launched next year.
Ústí nad Labem – One of the heaviest loads in history traveled on Czech roads today. A 465-ton generator manufactured in Erfurt first traveled along the Elbe River to Lovosice. At six o'clock this morning, it began its journey to its destination at the Tušimice power plant.
Prague – Three new bells – Dominik, Marie, and Ježíš – have been hung in St. Vitus Cathedral and are ready for their first weekend ringing. The installation of the bells, which replace the original ones destroyed during the war after almost a hundred years, took almost the entire day. It was not easy at all. For example, the crane got stuck in the castle gate in the morning. It could only pass after the tires were deflated.
